The winners and runners-up in both the Adult and Youth annual Short Story Contest will be announced at this event. Acclaimed author, NINO RICCI, will deliver a keynote and announce the winner and finalists as this year’s guest judge for the Adult Short Story Contest. “Ricci belongs on the shelf reserved for writers such as Chatwin, Ondaatje and Flannery O’Connor.” — TIMOTHY FINDLEY

Following the announcement of the Adult Contest winners, Marthe Jocelyn, guest judge for the Youth Short Story Contest will announce the winner and finalists in that category.
Toronto-born MARTHE JOCELYN is the award-winning author and illustrator of over twenty books, including Viminy Crowe's Comic Book and What We Hide. Her picture book Hannah's Collections was short-listed for the Governor General's Literary Award for Illustration. Her novel Mable Riley won the inaugural TD Canadian Children's Literature Award. Marthe is the 2009 recipient of the prestigious Vicky Metcalf Award for her body of work. Lunch Menu: Creamy, mildly spicy butter chicken, served with basmati rice, warm naan bread and a fresh garden salad. Cake for dessert. Cash bar. Vegetarian option available.
