Maple & Moose presents a fundraising concert to support the production of a documentary film about the Farmerettes. Huron County bands, The Lucky Charms and Honey Sweethearts are joining us to celebrate the Farmerettes with a wonderful afternoon of music at Blyth Memorial Hall. From 1941 - 1952 more than 40,000 teenaged girls volunteered through the Ontario Farm Service Force to aid in critical food production. While the country was at war, these young women stepped up on the homefront to work in fields, orchards and canning factories, living in organized camps on farm properties.
Their stories and photos are contained in the book Onion Skins and Peach Fuzz: Memories of Ontario Farmerettes.

Includes one 20-minute intermission
